Kirin Hops CY 2025 is a unique Japanese-developed hop variety grown in Canada, created by Kirin Brewery in Japan as an alternative to Sorachi Ace. Developed from Saazer × Whitebine (open pollination), Kirin combines Japanese breeding heritage with Canadian-grown hops.
Kirin is a dual-purpose hop with an intense and distinctive aroma profile featuring citrus, lemon, tangerine, fig and soft herbal notes. Its versatile character makes it an excellent choice for IPA, Pale Ale, Saison, Lager and other craft beer styles, with applications in the kettle, whirlpool, late additions and dry hopping.
